Evening 10 Time Trial Series 2012

The club will run a series of 10-mile time trials every Thursday evening throughout the summer 2012, between 19th April and 23rd August. They are run on quiet country lanes, starting opposite the Lime Kiln public house at Cropwell Bishop - Course profile shown below. Results will be published in the forum classified results section here

These events are suitable for all abilities, we have people aged from 16 to 75, male and female, time-trial bikes and mountain bikes, those who are trying to win the club championship and those who just do it for a bit of fun. Everyone is welcome to come along and have a go*.

The highlight of the evening is gathering in the Lime Kiln pub afterwards for a meal. Partners are welcome to join in to make it a very social gathering where we don't just talk about cycling.

Due to an increased levy from the Time Trial governing body CTT, we have had to raise our entry price to £4 for each TT. You will be able to purchase a season card for 5 rides at £20 or 10 rides for £35. Please note that due to the time pressures on our helpers in sorting all the riders and timekeeping for these popular events, please make sure your Club membership is in place before you intend to ride.

All the Evening 10 events will start at 7pm / 7.15pm and once a 40 rider entry is reached, any further riders are at the timekeepers discretion.

Nottingham Clarion Club members will have priority sign in, and will have up to 15 mins before the start time (so 6.45 for 7pm start, 7 for a 7.15pm start) to sign in and receive their number (subject to the previously published safe riding number not having been already reached) . Anyone wishing to ride in a private trial will be able to register their interest to ride before 6.45pm (before 7 for a 7.15 start) but their name will be placed on a reserve list. 15 mins before the scheduled start any remaining spaces not taken by club members will be given to those on the reserve list.

We hope this addresses concerns that Club members get priority as it is their Championship and trophies are at stake! For members of our fellow clubs we have always welcomed and encouraged participation and in return we actively promote your Open and Club events to our members. We hope that you understand our need to prioritise for members and would expect that you may need to take similar measures at your own events in similar circumstances. We will try our hardest not to disappoint anyone wanting to ride.

Happy Racing!

*Non-club members welcome to record private times (do not count towards overall Series). 3rd party insurance - e.g. BCF or CTC - is required to compete in our events on the public highway. To ride a private trial you need to be a member of a club that is affiliated to CTT.

Club members five fastest times of the year count towards the Club 10 mile Championship. The fastest rider wins the coveted Chambers Bowl trophy and there are also categories for junior, juvenile and lady riders.

In 2012 the Club are will continue with the 'Athlete's 10' prize awarded to the fastest time of the year set on a standard road bike with no aerodynamic aids or clothing.
